Anyone who likes boats will love Randle which was traditionally built and is beautifully maintained. Shiny Brass and varnished wood create a cozy typical classic nautical atmosphere inside. With only 2 cabins and a Captain who enjoys customising itinerary and excursions, it's the perfect private boat to cruise the narrow and scenic route from Auxerre to Moret-sur-Loing, the Impressionnist country. Enjoy gourmet cuisine for diner at selected restaurants along Randle's cruise route.




The Randle is an elegant riverboat with modern comforts and classic charm. It features open bar and a cellar with range of great regional wines. Cabins are wood paneled with en-suite. The boat is air conditioned for hot summers and centrally heated for cool late season evenings· A Cordon Bleu chef will prepare lunches and guests will be chauffeured to vineyards, chateaux, and other places of interest. Evening chauffeur service to the restaurant of your choice every night.

itinerary - Clamecy to Auxerre

SUNDAY - Clamecy

Your chauffeured private car meets you at your Paris hotel, airport arrivals, or station. Usual pick up time of 2pm. Arrive to Clamecy, an old town nestled in rolling landscape of the Nievre region from whence the Nivernais canal gets its name. Welcome aboard with a glass of Moét and home made gougére pastries. Take a walk into Clamecy with windingcobbled streets and magnificent 16th Century church St.Martin. Clamecy was also the seat of the bishop ofBethlehem for 600 years and a centre of logging for400, now a picturesque town with a museum of theregion and good restaurants.

Evening dining: Hostellerie de le poste
The Hostellerie de le Poste, the towns old staging inn where the post would have been delivered by horse and carriage, and where the passengers rested and dined. Now a classic French restaurant with relaxed surroundings and extensive wine list.

MONDAY - Clamecy to Lucy-sur-Yonne

We depart at 9am and descend the lock onto the river Yonne and then onto the Nivernais canal, the morning cruise takes us past the limestone cliffs of Basville and a 15th Century fortified farm. After stopping for lunch we continue to our destination of the day, Lucy-sur-Yonne with 11c church, river, and old mill pond nearby. A guided afternoon tour takes you to Vezelay, an UNESCO world heritage site, fortified town, and grand basilica dedicated to Mary Magdalen. Stroll the pretty streets with many boutique shops, café’s, and restaurants.

Evening Dining: Les Deux Ponts restaurant
Just ten minutes from Vézelay, and close to the picturesque two bridges across the river Cure lies Les Deux Ponts restaurant. A lovely farmhouse style restaurant, with a cozy log fire and menu from fresh local produce. Expertly run Philippe and Marianne Bariteau.

TUESDAY - Lucy-sur-Yonne to Mailly-le-chateau

Tuesday 9am and we set off along the meandering canal past hilltop villages and the magnificent white coral cliffs of Rochers-du-Saussois. After lunch we arrive at Mailly-le-Chateau with 14th Century Chateau perched in the very edge of a tall escapement, and fortified 13th Century church. Afternoon guided tour to the limestone caves of the Grottes-de-Arcy. A fascinating cave system which runs for over 500m under the hillside and contains many 28,000 year old Palaeolithic paintings representing Bears, Rhino, and Mammoth.

Evening dining in the village of Mailly-le-chateau
where Elisabeth and Dominique offer classic Burgundy cuisine at Le Castel Hotel (Full board option) aboard the Randle; our chef prepares a delicious three course dinner complemented with selected premier cru wine.

WEDNESDAY - Mailly-le-chateau to Accolay

Today is morning market day at the pretty village of Noyers-sur-Serein. A very picturesque and fortified village with 15th Century timber framed houses with intricate carvings, home to many artists, a potter, a jeweller and a leather maker. Stroll the cobbled streets and market stalls, buy a little something for friends back home. After lunch aboard the Randle we make our way along winding canal and river Yonne to the pretty canal side Village of Accolay.

Evening dining at the Hostellerie-de-la-fontaine,
a surprisingly good find in such a quiet village with elegant under-croft restaurant or al fresco on balmy evenings.

THURSDAY - Accolay to Vincelles

9am departure from our mooring as we cruise along the Yonne valley with vineyards coming into view on the hills above. After lunch we moor on the river at Vincelles overlooking a watermill with vines on the hills in the distance. We take an afternoon tour to the pretty winev illages of Irancy, Chitry, and Chablis. Discover Burgundy's famous Pinot Noir, and fabulous Chablis. Complete with tour of the grand-cru vineyards andwine tasting in the village.

Evening Dining : Auberge-de-les-tilleuls
where chef Alain Renaudin prepares gastronomic dishes from fresh local ingredients.(Full board option) aboard the Randle; our chef prepares a delicious three course dinner.

FRIDAY - Vincelles to Auxerre

9am The Randle departs, today and we are cruising on the river Yonne, with open vistas as we cruise past pretty riverside villages of Bailly and Vaux, after lunch we arrive to our destination, Auxerre. Auxerre has been a prosperous town since roman times and is dominated by the 11-16th Century St.Étienne cathedral built on the high ground overlooking the river. Although a bustling and modern town it maintains its 15c charm with many timber framed houses and pretty streets, a great place for shopping or just people watching from one of the busy street side cafés.

Evening dining, La P’titeco Beusaude
A small but charming restaurant where Jérôme and Sylvie Carpentier focus on traditional Burgundy cuisine.

SATURDAY - Moret-sur-loing
After breakfast you are transferred by private car to Paris for your onward journey.

On alternate weeks the cruise will be in the reverse direction. This is a sample itinerary and is subject to change.
