THE 6 PASSENGER BARGE Wine & Water
Wine & Water offers 3 bedroom suites for 2 to 6 passengers. The boat is air-conditioned and very comfortable. The large windows allows plenty of natural light and panoramic views. The Salon has a dining area, a large bar with bar stools and an open planned kitchen. The huge sun deck is perfect for relaxing and alfresco dinning.

SUNDAY - DIJON
Guests are met at the designated meeting point and transferred by air-conditioned minibus to the barge. A warm
welcome aboard, from the captain and crew, with a champagne welcome, the perfect start to a unique and
memorable stay in Burgundy. Your first candlelit dinner will mark your introduction to regional specialties and wines.

MONDAY - Vandenesse to Pont d’Ouche
This morning is a wonderful opportunity for you to enjoy the countryside as the barge glides along the canal. While you enjoy breakfast, we leave the port of Vandenesse and begin to pass through the first locks. Arriving in the village of Crugey at midday, the chef will enchant you with a typical Burgundy menu. After lunch the barge continues the voyage to the tempo of the canal locks to Pont d’Ouche. When your hotel barge is moored, you will be drive to the famous wine town of Beaune, here to visit the Hospices de Beaune, built in 1443, and for you stroll along cobbled streets lined with boutiques, antique shops and wine shops. The return to the barge takes you through the “Hautes Côtes” vineyards. Dinner in a nearby Château, a fairytale chateau in a nearby tiny village.
TUESDAY - Pont d’Ouche to Gissey sur Ouche
Today, the barge cruise will take you into the magnificent Valley of the Ouche, a journey back in time passing through unique landscapes as the canal twists through the narrow valley. You will cruise through the villages of La Buissière sur Ouche and Saint Victor to Gissey sur Ouche. We moor here for the night, in a hidden romantic spot, beside the river Ouche and a Gallo Roman bridge, one of the most photographed and painted views. This afternoon, we will visit the world famous wine village Aloxe Corton, a unique site of the Corton hillside, famous for its red and white Grands Crus, here you will visit the only Château amongst the Grands Crus of the Côte de Beaune for a wine tasting in cellars dating back to the XVth century afterwards returning to the barge. Dinner on board.
WEDNESDAY - Gissey sur Ouche to Fleurey sur Ouche
Today, morning cruise through the charming villages of Saint Marie sur Ouche and Pont de Pany. The barge heads
on to the village of Fleurey sur Ouche and once moored, there are possibilities to discover more about the region,
from Gallo-Roman ruins to feudal castles with dramatic histories. The afternoon a visit of the famous historical
monument Clos de Vougeot, originally a wine farm, built in the 12th century by monks, afterwards a private wine
tasting at Gevrey Chambertin. Dinner on board.
THURSDAY - Fleurey sur Ouche to Plombières les Dijon
On today’s journey the barge will follow the canal route to Plombières les Dijon, the afternoon visit is a drive through the finest vine yards of Burgundy, wine tasting Château de Marsannay and visit of a cheese maker, the Fromagerie Gaugry promotes one of the most flavoursome Burgundian cheeses thanks to their perfectly mastered know-how. Dinner on board.
FRIDAY - Plombières les Dijon to Dijon
Morning venture into DIJON to walk around the splendors of DIJON, the fresh morning market, also a visit to the ancient palace of the powerful Dukes of Burgundy, the 12thC Notre Dame church, and the medieval cobbled streets of Rue de la Chouette, after drive back for lunch on board and then a lazy afternoon final cruise, cruising past the lake of DIJON, “Lac Kir”, late afternoon Wine & Water will then moor up in the splendid port of Dijon. Cocktails, before the Farewell Gala. Dinner on board. .
SATURDAY - Dijon
After breakfast, we disembark and transfer to the designated drop off point.
On alternate weeks the cruise will be in the reverse direction. This is a sample itinerary and is subject to change.

Pick up at the Dijon or Beaune train station. Cruise starts at 45kms West of Dijon and 30kms North of Beaune starting from the small village Vandenesse en Auxois near Chateuaneuf en Auxois, direction Dijon, cruising through the beautiful Vallée d’Ouche, this part of the Burgundy Canal is the most scenic of all the French canal routes with nearby villages & small towns, restaurants and not far the famous Burgundian vineyards the Côtes de Nuits & Côtes de Beaune. Welcome drinks on board, guided tour of the barge with the Captain. Dinner is served on board.
Cruise and if wished in the late afternoon visit to a nearby place of interest. Your Captain will reserve a nearby restaurant for you.
Full days “Wine, Historical & Discovery tour” with Max in his air-conditioned mini-van, lunch is reserved in a typical Burgundian restaurant in a famous wine village on the outskirts of Beaune (this is included in the price of the cruise). The evening meal on board. Chateau Pierre-Andre one of the places where Max will present you elegant and famous wines.
Cruise and if wished late afternoon visit to a place of interest, dinner is served on board.
After breakfast the Captain will drive you back to either the Dijon or Beaune train station.
