driving your penichette.. Detailed navigation guides show where
you can moor, shop, get fresh water or go sightseeing. Scenic
countryside and charming villages along the canal are garanteed.

Comfort
on board your penichette
Everything is planned for your comfort. Penichettes are spacious,
equipped with showers and running hot and cold water. There's storage
space to satisfy the most demanding. It's easy to fill water tanks
every day at locks and villages. Sheets and bedding are provided.

Things
to do while during a canal cruise
You like the spot? Just moor.. You can go for a walk or a
bicycle ride, visit a church or a chateau, dive in or choose to
fish. At the Locaboat base we will tell you how to get a fishing
permit and what sort of fish you might catch along canals and
rivers.

Going through locks in France
There are many different types of locks on French canals.
How they work is explained in the Locaboat manual sent with your
voucher. More information is provided when you arrive at the Locaboat
base. Going through locks is a major highlight of your cruise.
It' fun and very entertaining. You will have the opportunity to
chat with the lock-keeper and often to buy fresh vegetables from
his garden .You will enjoy the very different views during 'change
of level.

Relaxation
on deck aboard your own canal boat
The deck is one of the most acclaimed features of the Pénichette.
Spacious, flat and right under the captain's eye, it can be used
to read, , sunbath or set a picnic table. Moving around the boat
is easy and safe. Indoors, the saloon is the place for board games,
family discussions or intimate dinners. |

Bicycles are the ideal complement to your cruise. Paths along
canals provide perfect bicycle tracks. You should reserve them
at time of bookingl. You will pay at the Locaboat base when you
get there..

On a Pénichette you should look for local specialities -
home grown vegetables and regional dishes. Shop in markets and cook
on board in your fully-equipped galley or select onee of the many
restaurants along your route. A list of recommended restaurants

prepare your meal in the middle of nowhere or at the dock. french
villages are never far away, and you can ride bikes to fetch fresh
