Anyone who likes boats will love Randle which was traditionally built and is beautifully maintained. Shiny Brass and varnished wood create a cozy typical classic nautical atmosphere inside. With only 2 cabins and a Captain who enjoys customising itinerary and excursions, it's the perfect private boat for an intimate cruise. The "dine around" option will allow you to enjoy gourmet cuisine for diner at selected restaurants along Randle's cruise route.




The Randle is an elegant riverboat with modern comforts and classic charm. It features open bar and a cellar with range of great regional wines. Cabins are wood paneled with en-suite. The boat is air conditioned for hot summers and centrally heated for cool late season evenings· A Cordon Bleu chef will prepare lunches and guests will be chauffeured to vineyards, chateaux, and other places of interest. Evening chauffeur service to the restaurant of your choice every night.

SUNDAY - chevroches

2pm Paris rendezvous for a 2 1/2 hour private transfer to the Randle moored at the picturesque village of Chevroches. Enjoy a welcome aboard with Champagne canapés. Visit nearby Clamecy (pop’ 4,500) an old town nestled in rolling landscape of the Nievre region from where the Nivernais canal gets its name. Take a walk through the meandering cobbled streets to the magnificent 16c church St Martin. Clamecy was the seat of the bishop of Bethlehem for 600 years and a centre of logging for 400.

MONDAY - Chevroches to Lucy-sur-Yonne

We depart at 9am to descend onto the river Yonne, the morning cruise takes us past limestone cliffs and the 14c fortified farm Chartreuse-de-Bassville. After stopping for lunch we continue to our destination of the day, Lucy-sur-Yonne (pop’ 151) with 11c church with restored stained glass windows, and a mill pond nearby. A guided afternoon tour takes us to Vezelay, an UNESCO world heritage site and fortified town with Romanesque Basilica dedicated to Mary Magdalene. Stroll the picturesque streets with many boutiques, art galleries, cafés, and restaurants.

Our very own gourmet chef Gael prepares a four course dinner from fresh local produce complimented with a selected premier-cru wine of the region.

TUESDAY - Lucy-sur-Yonne to Mailly-le-chateau

At 9am and we set off along the meandering canal past hilltop villages past the magnificent white cliffs of Rochers-du-Saussois. After lunch we arrive at Mailly-la-Ville (pop’605) with pretty river mooring. Take an Afternoon guided tour to the limestone caves of the Grottes-de-Arcy. A fascinating cave system which runs for over 500m underground and contains many 28,000 year old Palaeolithic paintings representing Bears, Rhino, and Mammoth.

Evening at the Etape-des-gourmets for dinner with local flavour, or for a grand night out at the Chateau Vault-de-Lugny with evening chauffeur service included.

WEDNESDAY - Mailly-le-chateau to Accolay

Today is morning market at the village of Noyers-sur-Serein. A very picturesque fortified village with 15c timber framed buildings with intricate carvings, it is listed as one of the 156 prettiest villages of France, "Les Plus Beaux Villages de France". Home to many artists, a potter, a jeweller, and a leather maker. Stroll the cobbled streets and market stalls, buy a little something for friends back home. After lunch aboard the Randle we make an afternoon cruise along the canal and river Yonne to the pretty Village of Accolay (pop’ 467)

Evening diner at the Hostellerie-de-la-fontaine, a surprisingly good find and a short walk from our mooring with elegant under-croft restaurant or al fresco dining on balmy evenings.

THURSDAY - Accolay to Vincelles

9am we depart from our mooring and cruise along the Yonne valley with vineyards coming into view on the hills above. After lunch we moor on the river at Vincelles overlooking a watermill with vines on the hills above. We take an afternoon tour to the wine villages of Irancy, Chitry, and Chablis. View the famous Chablis grand-cru vineyards and take a wine tasting in the town.

FRIDAY - Vincelles to Auxerre

Today and we are river cruising along the Yonne with open vistas past pretty riverside villages. After lunch we arrive to our destination, Auxerre (pop’ 45,000) Auxerre has been a prosperous town since roman times and is dominated by the 11-16c St Étienne cathedral built on the high ground overlooking the river. Although a bustling and modern town it maintains its 15c charm with many timber framed buildings and cobbled streets, a great place for shopping or just people watching from one of the busy street side cafés.

Evening dining at La P’titeco Beusaude, a small and charming restaurant where Jérôme and Sylvie Carpentier focus on traditional Burgundy cuisine.

SATURDAY - paris
After breakfast you are transferred by private car to Paris for your onward journey.

On alternate weeks the cruise will be in the reverse direction. This is a sample itinerary and is subject to change.

We meet you in central Paris and transfer, by chauffeured Mercedes, to The Randle on the Burgundy Canal. Welcome Aboard with Champagne and canapés.

MONDAY - Venarey-les-Laumes to Montbard

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, then take a tour to the hilltop village of Flavigny-sur-Ozerain, where ‘Chocolat’ was filmed, then visit nearby Alesia, where Juilious Cezar and the Romans defeated the Gauls in 52 B.C. After lunch we take a leisurely cruise past pretty canal-side villages of Nogent, Courcelles, and Les Granges to Montbard.

TUESDAY - Montbard to Ravières

Enjoy a morning tour of the exquisite UNESCO listed Abbaye de Fontenay, founded in 1118 by St Bernard. Virtually intact and representing a distinctive example of early Cistercian architecture, Fontenay allows an exceptional glimpse into monastery life with its peaceful gardens, ponds, fascinating cloisters, dormitories and scriptorium. Return to the barge for lunch and cruise to Ravières passing the 18c Forges de Buffon, site of the earliest blast furnace in France, and a cradle of the French industrial revolution.

WEDNESDAY - Raviéres to Ancy-le-Franc

A leisurely morning cruise takes us to Ancy-le-France. After lunch we enjoy a tasting at the family owned Champagne house of Alexandre Bonnet, renowned for a stunning yearly harvest of Pinot Noir that leads to some truly exquisite vintages. And then short drive to Château de Ricey-Bas, with 12th century vaulted cellars and thousand-year history, it’s the ideal location to enjoy the rolling vineyards and catch a glimpse of family life in a rural château.

THURSDAY - Ancy-le-Franc to Lezinnes

This morning we enjoy a visit Château d’Ancy-le-Franc, a beautifully symmetrical 16th century masterpiece containing France’s biggest collection of Renaissance murals, set in magnificent gardens and parkland. After lunch we enjoy a cruise descending through the picturesque locks to moor at the quiet village of Lezinnes.

FRIDAY - Lezinnes to Tanlay

A morning cruise takes us to Chateau-de-Tanlay, built during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, famous for its beauty and setting. The château is entirely encircled by a rectilinear moat and approached across a bridge marked by paired obelisks through a gatehouse, the perfect symmetry is part of Tanlay's serene charm. For golf players there is nine-hole links set in the chateau grounds.

Tuesday, Chateau Vault de Lugny, Michelin Starred
A majestic setting - including a room in the old kitchens of the castle! - for an elegant menu; the chef pays tribute to the vegetables of the beautiful garden of the estate, and noble products in general, with some exotic touches ... The menu of Burgundy is remarkable and has been awarded a Michelin star.

Wednesday, Hostellerie de la Fontaine
Take a gourmet break at the Hostellerie de la Fontaine, in the heart of Accolay, at the edge of the Canal. The cuisine of Chef Alain Pohu, at the station for more than 20 years, is Bourguignonne and Gastronomic, in respect of seasonal products. The dining room is located in a 17th century cave, intimate and warm, of typical Burgundy charm.

Thursday, Auberge Les Tilleuls
Bucolic break at the edge of the Yonne. Here, the chef puts on the right products and concocts tasty traditional cuisine or more current recipes. Riverside Terrace and a good choice of Burgundy wine.

Friday, la P'tite Beusaude
Jerome Carpentier offers traditional cuisine with local Burgundy products, to continue in the authenticity of the restaurant, the waitresses are dressed with the traditional dresses of the Morvan! In a pretty little country house decor with exposed beams and a charming blue window dressed in green plants and a small terrace, let yourself embark on a gourmet trip to the "P'Tite Beursaude" in Auxerre.
